The Viet Nam – New Zealand Dam Safety Project has developed a comprehensive framework for Dam Safety Training in Vietnam. The framework is based on targeted training to the audience, and providing technical tools and information on roles and responsibilities that will help change behaviour and reduce dam safety risks. Change is driven by:
· Better understanding leading to improved practice
· The demonstration effect of case studies
To date a number of training courses and workshops have been held in Nghe An and Ha Tinh Provinces as well as in Hanoi. The courses involve classroom presentations, workshop sessions and site visits to selected dams.
